Biography

Professor Shinn has twenty years of experience serving as in house counsel for both state and local government agencies in Ohio. Currently, he serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein. He served as Chief Legal Counsel and Chief Elections Counsel for Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. He also served as an Assistant Disciplinary Counsel for the Supreme Court of Ohio, and as a Staff Attorney at the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals and at the Domestic Relations & Juvenile Division of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. He also practiced domestic relations and employment law in private practice at a boutique law firm in Dublin, OH. Professor Shinn previously was President of the Stonewall Columbus Board of Trustees and served for ten years on the Columbus Community Relations Commission.
