Biography

Lauren C. Emptage joined the Capital University Law School in September of 2021 and serves as the Director and Professor of Academic Support. In this role, she collaborates with other faculty members to create a robust curriculum of support and skills activities to help students achieve success during their legal education while also providing individualized support to students. She is an active member of the Association of Academic Support Educators and the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals. Prior to joining the faculty at Capital Law School, she worked for the legal education company, BARBRI. At BARBRI, as a Director of Legal Education, she worked with law schools nationwide to build relationships, evaluate institutional needs, and support students during their law school journey. In her time at BARBRI she supported and counseled students through 17 bar exams. During this time she also hosted national webinars for first-year law students and taught essay writing and MPT workshops at law schools across Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.
