Professor Ross will provide an overview of her book and discuss three main themes: 1) consent, 2) bodily integrity, and 3) focusing on victim/survivor's point of view.
About the Author
Josephine Ross is a professor of law at the HowardUniversity School of Law where she teaches Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and a Reentry Clinic where students represent clients and work on law reform related to post-conviction relief. Professor Ross has published on a variety of subject areas, from same-sex marriage to confrontation clause, but her focus for the past decade has been on criminal injustice. Her publications appear in journals such as the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, the Pittsburgh LawReview, the Seattle Law Review, and the lead article in the Harvard Journal of Racial and Ethnic Justice. Her book, A FEMINIST CRITIQUE OF POLICE STOPS, draws on her experience as a trial lawyer and professor, her students' stories, and the community outreach projects she undertook with Howard law students.
